5. Review the announcement for students in Blackboard.
For the Fall 2024 semester, students might have some courses in Blackboard Learn and others in D2L’s Brightspace. To lessen student confusion, please follow the Fall 2024: Additional Steps guide to review the default announcement in Blackboard courses regarding Brightspace.
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) is transitioning its learning management system (LMS) from Anthology’s Blackboard Learn to D2L’s Brightspace. In the Summer and Fall 2024 terms, courses may be taught in either Blackboard Learn or Brightspace. Depending on students’ course schedules, this may mean that all their courses are in Blackboard, all their courses are in Brightspace, or some of their courses are in Blackboard and some of their courses are in Brightspace.
As advocates of our Tri-C students’ success, we would like to share with you how you can help our students access their courses during our transition phases. While we emailed all our active students with the course access instructions below, we also wanted to share them with you if you encounter a student needing help.
Tri-C has many resources on this page to help faculty access and navigate Brightspace. We want to make everyone’s experience during our transition to Brightspace seamless. Contact us at 216-987-HELP (4357) or helpdesk@tri-c.edu if you have any questions or need help.
Wishing you the best this summer term!
Students can access courses in my Tri-C spaceby locating the “Blackboard/Brightspace” card and selecting the “Blackboard LMS” or “Brightspace LMS” buttons.
If students are not sure which LMS course will use, select the “Blackboard LMS” in my Tri-C space and take the following steps:
Log in to Blackboard.
Find your course in the courses tab.
The course will be offered in Brightspace if there is no course content or if there is a message from the instructor indicating the course will be taught in Brightspace.
If students are still unsure which LMS will be used for their courses, please ask them to contact their instructor(s).
