Instructional Faculty: Along with a resume/CV and cover letter, applications for these positions will require unofficial transcripts (if applicable for part-time instructors), licenses and certifications required by the position, and a teaching statement (Tenure Track Faculty and Full-Time Lecturer only).
Tenure Track Faculty: Responsible for teaching a standard of 30 Equated Semester Units per academic year (minimum of nine and maximum of 18 per academic semester). Tenure Track Faculty are represented by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and can achieve tenure after five years if they satisfy the requirements outlined in the AAUP contract. Salary is based on a standard academic year of 36 weeks (fall and spring semesters). Summer contracts are issued separately.
Full-Time Lecturer: Responsible for teaching 15 Equated Semester Units in a given semester or 30 Equated Semester Units in an academic year. Lectureships are limited in duration, from one or two academic semesters to a maximum of three cumulative academic years. Salary is based on a standard academic year of 36 weeks (fall and spring semesters). Summer contracts are issued separately.
Part-Time Adjunct Faculty: Employed for a semester to teach specific courses within their field, candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
Part-Time Instructors: Instructors teach noncredit courses within their field through programs offered at the College. These are ongoing pooled positions and may be reviewed on an as-needed basis.
Noninstructional Faculty: Resumes/CVs and cover letters are recommended for the Noninstructional Faculty positions.
Part-Time Counselor: Performs a full range of academic, personal, career and transfer counseling activities. Counselors may teach General Studies courses and student success workshops as needed. These positions are ongoing pooled positions and may be reviewed on an as-needed basis.
Part-Time Librarian: Provides library services, including but not limited to instruction, reference and collection management in support of the College's curriculum and mission. These positions are ongoing pooled positions and may be reviewed on an as-needed basis.
Part-Time Academic Coaches: Provides comprehensive support for students from point of placement through completion of college-level coursework. These positions are ongoing pooled positions and may be reviewed on an as-needed basis.
Part-Time Tutors: Works directly with students to provide academic tutorial assistance. These positions are ongoing pooled positions and may be reviewed on an as-needed basis.
What is a pooled position? A pooled position is a part-time position that stays open throughout the fiscal year to gain an applicant pool. That applicant pool is then used to fill positions with frequent hiring needs as they come open within the College.
