Dance Academy (Ages 4 -18)

The Dance Academy, supported by the Cleveland Foundation, is designed for students with previous dance experience. Students train in the fundamentals of ballet and explore creativity through modern dance. This class emphasizes contemporary techniques to develop coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility and alignment. Students learn basic ballet and modern dance techniques, floor work, center work and movement across the floor. Instruction in creative improvisation, performance development, choreography and composition skills will culminate with a final performance.

Once students are grouped by skill level during placement auditions, they will be sent a specific weekly schedule based on their level. Rehearsals take place on select weeknights and Saturdays.

Dance Mastery (Ages 6-18)

Sept. 10 - Dec. 7, 2024 | FREE

The Dance Mastery community program introduces students to the world of dance. Participants will explore their creativity through a mastery-based approach to basic ballet and modern dance. Contemporary techniques, creative improvisation, performance development, choreography and composition skills will help students develop coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility and alignment, culminating in a final performance at the end of the spring semester.

Classes will be held at two different locations: Broadway School of Arts and Music and Tri-C's Eastern Campus. You can sign up for classes based on the location of your choice.
