Student Positions
Employment is an important source of financial assistance for students. The work experience is intended to complement the student's educational process and enhance future employment. Whenever possible, the work experience is related to the student's educational program and career objectives. Student employment not only accommodates the student — it also provides services necessary to the daily operation of the College.
Student Positions (no more than 20 hours per week)
- Work-Study Students are funded through the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program. FWS is a federal financial assistance program that requires the student to file by completing the FAFSA form, meet specific eligibility requirements, and receive FWS funds by the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. Due to having a limited amount of FWS funds, funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. A student employment award is NOT a guarantee of employment.
- Student Assistants/Student Ambassadors/Peer Mentors are funded through the division budget of the hiring department, which authorizes student assistants to work an allocated number of hours for the current academic year.
- Summer Internship Program gives all students (Work-Study, non-Work-Study and International F-1) an opportunity to gain valuable experience by working at a Tri-C campus or off-campus location while taking summer courses. You can receive more information from Student Career Services.
