The Associate Degree in Culinary Arts provides the basic skills, practice, and experience needed to start a professional culinary career. This degree program will equip you to advance into supervisory roles as your experience in the kitchen and skills develop. Our programs provide high quality curriculum, small class size, and individual attention by Chef Instructors and experienced faculty. The curriculum and degree requirements follow the guidelines of and are accredited by the American Culinary Federation.
The Culinary Arts program has three major components:
- Culinary concentration/hands-on food preparation: Emphasizes hands-on food preparation, including techniques in garde-manger, baking and contemporary and classical cuisine
- Kitchen management and supervision: Emphasizes menu planning, purchasing, cost control, human resource training and supervision
- Academic: Prepares the student for critical thinking, decision making, customer service, communication skills and cultural awareness

This program provides graduates with the extensive array of classical and advanced culinary skills and knowledge needed for a career as a sous chef, chef or kitchen manager. All Culinary Arts graduates are certified by the American Culinary Federation with designation as a Certified Culinarian. Leadership and business management education combine with advanced culinary knowledge and ServSafe Manager certification to create a well-rounded culinary professional.
