Basic Police Academy Courses
Students receive credit for the courses listed below while enrolled as cadets in the Tri-C® Police Academy. Because the curriculum is mandated by the OPOTC, students may not opt out of any courses.
If you have previously taken any course(s) listed below and plan to use financial aid, contact Student Financial Aid to see how repeating the course might affect your eligibility/award. Students must go through our office to register for these courses.

The Basic Police Academy credit classes cover a range of OPOTC topics including civil liability and use of force, physical conditioning, homeland security, firearms, traffic crash investigation and critical incident stress awareness.
