Tri-C offers short-term, stackable certificates that provide hands-on training in:
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), also referred to as STICK welding
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), also referred to as Metal Inert Gas (MIG)
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also referred to as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)
- Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Robotic Welding
- Oxy-Fuel/Plasma Processes
Additional related courses are available in Welding Print Reading, Standard First Aid and Personal Safety, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
Program Highlights:
- Students can test for multiple national welding certifications in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) standards (2F-4G)
- Train in a Welding lab with high-tech equipment from Lincoln Electric
- Financial aid and scholarships available for those who qualify
- Internship and job placement assistance available
- Entry-level salary: $25.31 per hour (Source: Ohio Department of Labor)
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- MATH-0910 Basic Arithmetic and Pre-Algebra (or qualified math placement).
