Nondestructive Testing NDT

Nondestructive Testing (NDT) is the application of scientific techniques to ensure the quality/integrity of products and/or components without damaging the item.

NDT Technicians may be certified in all or some of the techniques based on their career interest and needs of their employers.

NDT Technicians are certified as Level 1, 2, or 3. The level is a function of technical training and experience. Level 1 is entry level. Level 2 has additional experience. Level 3 requires a minimum of an associate degree in a technical discipline.

Portions of the required technical training can be provided by Cuyahoga Community College for Visual and Penetrant inspection. The Field Experience is gained through paid internships, unpaid internships, or direct hiring by an employer.
