How to Apply: Residents

Step 1: Submit a college application online

Step 2: Complete the ESL test preparation guide.

Step 3: Go to the Assessment Center of the campus you plan to attend, and take the ESL placement exam

Step 4: Meet with an ESL evaluator for an interview – you will get your English level placement at this interview. The evaluator will give you this Academic Pathways form showing your level.

Step 5: Following your evaluator's recommendations, register for classes at the Enrollment Center of any Tri-C Campus or register online.

Step 6: Make payment arrangements – if you are planning to apply for financial aid, you may want to meet with a college financial aid representative.
