Apply for Financial Assistance
Step 1: Apply for Admission
You must be admitted and enrolled in a financial aid eligible program to be considered for financial aid. If you have not already submitted your admission application to Tri-C, complete your application here.
Submit your official* high school (equivalence) or GED transcript sent to the Office of the Registrar.

*An official transcripts must be printed within the last year and sent directly from the institution in a sealed envelope and is designated "official" in writing or by virtue of transcript format. Official transcripts can be hand-delivered to any Enrollment Center office as long as the transcript is in a sealed envelope. Faxed transcripts are not accepted.
Step 2: Complete your FAFSA
Specific, step-by-step instructions are available online on our ‘Complete Your FAFSA’ webpage. In general, follow these few steps:
- To submit your FAFSA, you must have a Federal Student Aid ID, or FSA ID. An FSA ID must be created for both you and your parent (if you are a dependent), prior to completing the FAFSA. You will use this FSA ID to electronically ‘sign’ your FAFSA.
- Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov.
a. To ensure Tri-C receives your FAFSA information, include our school code, 003040, in the ‘School Section’ of the FAFSA.
b. Use the following chart to ensure the correct FAFSA is completed based upon your planned attendance. Note: you must complete a FAFSA each year you plan to use financial aid.

Step 3: Apply for Scholarships
To be considered for all scholarships (excluding athletic scholarships), you will need to complete our online scholarship application. Once submitted, your scholarship application will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be sent an award notification. Specific, step-by-step instructions are available on the ‘Applying for Scholarships’ webpage.
Step 4: Receive Your Award Letter
Once we receive your FAFSA, we will begin to review it to determine your financial aid eligibility. If we need additional information before we can award you, we will send you an email that is listed on your FAFSA. If no additional information is needed, you will receive an award notification.
