Tri-C Fall Commencement Celebrates More Than 1,500 Graduates
Ceremony for Class of 2024 takes place Dec. 12 at Wolstein Center
CLEVELAND — Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will celebrate the academic achievements of more than 1,500 petitioning graduates during its Fall Commencement on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m.
The College will confer more than 1,700 degrees and certificates of completion this fall. The graduate total reflects the ongoing impact of College programs and initiatives designed to keep students on the path to completion. The ceremony will be available for viewing on Tri-C's Commencement web page.
Tri-C President Michael A. Baston, J.D., Ed.D., said the graduates' motivational, ambitious and inspirational qualities will serve them well throughout their lives.
"Their time at Tri-C might be coming to an end, but a commencement signifies a beginning," Baston said. "Today is the beginning of the next chapter in their lives, and all of us are eager to see what comes next."
Baston wants to remind the graduating class that no matter where life takes them, Tri-C will be a lifelong learning partner.
"Tri-C will be here to support all our graduates in the future, just as we have in the past," Baston said. "No matter where they are in life, they can always come home to Tri-C for encouragement, support, training and upskilling."
Joshua Eddie, a Euclid resident, was selected by his classmates as the student speaker. Eddie, who will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science from the School of Business, Legal Professions and Hospitality, will continue his education this spring at Franklin University, where he plans to earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Eddie adeptly balanced academics, full-time work and military service. He completed seven classes per semester while working as the director of valet services in downtown Cleveland, supervising 20 to 30 employees, and managing two properties. He was even deployed twice over multiple semesters during his nearly 10-year Air Force career, most recently for hurricane relief.
Read more about Eddie and other high-achieving graduates on the College's Commencement Graduate Stories web page.
This semester's commencement ceremony will take place at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center, located at 2000 Prospect Ave. in Cleveland.
