Commencement
What is commencement?
Commencement is often referred to as "graduation," but there is a difference. Commencement is a ceremony that celebrates students who are projected to successfully complete all degree or certificate requirements by the end of the academic year. Students who complete graduation requirements in the Spring 2024 Semester will be invited to attend the spring 2024 ceremony. Students who graduate in the summer term will be invited to participate in the fall commencement ceremony.
What is graduation?
Graduation happens when a student has officially completed all degree or certificate requirements. Confirmation of degree or certificate completion will take place once all official grades are posted – usually one month after Commencement. When the requirements are met, a student is then considered a graduate!
