Author, Holistic Health Educator Receives Literary Awards
Award-winning author Steve Zimcosky was born in the Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland, and is a licensed massage therapist and holistic health educator. He teaches qigong and tai chi at Case Western Reserve University and Cuyahoga Community College, and at various health and wellness centers in the area. He enjoys seeing people’s health improve by practicing these ancient Chinese healing arts.
In addition to his work in holistic health, Zimcosky is also the author of several novellas and short stories.
His literary work has been recognized for excellence. He received a gold award from Literary Titan for his novella, The Revelations at Black Corners and a silver award for The Venusians Among Us. His choice of a career as a holistic health educator, and his writing career, have allowed him to do what he loves, while helping people along the way.
Zimcosky started his college education at Cleveland State University, but had to withdraw because of family issues. After starting his own family, he decided to go back to college and chose Tri-C. Zimcosky has always been interested in health and wellness, so after earning an Associate of Arts degree at Tri-C, he enrolled at Charter Oak State College in Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in holistic health.
Supportive faculty members and a strong interest in holistic health motivated Zimcosky to earn his two-year degree from Tri-C.
“Tri-C gave me the feeling of accomplishment,” he said. “I would encourage students to stay on top of their classes and the work needed to complete them. Doors will open for you once you finish with your degree or certificate..”
