Larry Kontosh
Larry Kontosh embarked on his educational journey at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) after a disheartening experience at a university. Tri-C became a crucial turning point, providing Kontosh with a supportive environment for a fresh start.
He was one of the first students to graduate from Tri-C’s Western Campus, earning an Associate of Arts in general studies in 1967. This milestone laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Kontosh describes his Tri-C experience as transformative, emphasizing the opportunity it granted him to regroup and set new educational sights. Tri-C not only equipped him with academic knowledge but also instilled valuable skills, such as properly preparing for classes and accessing guidance and knowledge from his professors.
Kontosh's educational journey extended beyond Tri-C when he gave a university another shot and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in social work from Cleveland State University. His noteworthy achievements would culminate in a rich educational background that spans various prestigious institutions. He furthered his education with a Master of Science in Social Administration (MSSA) from Case Western Reserve University and a Ph.D. in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from The Ohio State University.
In his professional life, Kontosh retired as an associate professor after a fulfilling career teaching in higher education. He specialized in mental health and rehabilitation counseling, imparting his knowledge and experience to future professionals.
