Dwayne Dawson’s desire to become a business owner led him to Tri-C. Despite facing challenges such as vehicle breakdowns, he maintained his attendance and engagement in his courses thanks to the accessibility of public transportation. He ultimately earned an Associate of Applied Business in real estate with a concentration in business administration in 1995.
Dawson continued his education at Strayer University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in business administration with a concentration in management. He has faced financial hurdles while pursuing an MBA, but he remains committed to achieving this degree.
The education and real-time techniques he acquired at Tri-C were instrumental in preparing him for the workforce and life’s various scenarios.
Professionally, Dawson has not only founded and grown three companies over two decades, but he has also made significant contributions to the city of Cleveland’s Department of Community Development, where he holds the position of Accountant IV. His responsibilities span across financial reporting, grant management, budgeting and more, showcasing his versatility and expertise. His leadership capabilities are further highlighted through his roles as acting budget manager and acting accounting manager, where he has demonstrated his ability to oversee critical financial operations.
