When Dr. Martina Moore and her husband started Moore Counseling & Mediation Services 15 years ago, they never expected it to grow to seven locations. The business began to experience some growth in 2009, but their revenues have nearly doubled each year since Moore completed the 10,000 Small Businesses program in 2013.

Moore’s husband encouraged her to participate in 10KSB when they learned of it through their local chamber of commerce. She didn’t want to apply at first, because she said she had a “mental block to business.” However, her mindset changed while in the program – she became an owner instead of a worker. She learned how to keep up with her business’ growth and now takes time every day to think about what steps to take to stay ahead of it. 

The Moores opened two new locations in the same year, including one in Lorain County. They are currently planning two additional locations.
