Tri-C Student Receives Art Award in International Competition
Zoe Hunter honored at League for Innovation International Student Art Awards
A Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) student was honored during the 38th annual League for Innovation International Student Art Awards, which highlights the best artwork by community college students in North America.
Zoe Hunter of Lakewood won a Juror's Choice award for her ceramic work, “Living Room.” Hunter created this piece for Professor Andrea LeBlond’s ceramics class at the Metropolitan Campus.
The League for Innovation in the Community College is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating innovation in the community college environment. Moraine Valley Community College hosted the 2023-2024 competition.
Hunter's "Living Room" is a ceramic model of her Lakewood home.
"This is a miniature rendering of my apartment living room that I share with my lifelong best friend," Hunter said of her submission. "I included our cat and bunny as separate ceramic pieces that can be moved about the space."
Four other Tri-C students competed in the League for Innovation International Student Art Awards:
- Paulette Bryant of Cleveland
- Greyson Fischer of Solon
- Kaitlyn Murphy of Akron
- Mary Ruffing of Cleveland
Their artwork will be included in a competition catalog featuring every selected entry.
