Tri-C Selects Scott Latiolais as Westshore Campus President
Latiolais will relocate to Cleveland to begin his leadership role in August
Following a nationwide search, Scott Latiolais, Ed.D., has been named president of the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Westshore Campus. He will officially join Tri-C in August.
"I am pleased join an institution and campus that is student-focused, continually improving and equity-minded. I look forward to championing student success and supporting student learning both in and out of the classroom," he said.
Latiolais' two decades of innovative and student-focused experience in higher education include senior-level expertise in career and transfer education; adjunct faculty and curriculum development experience; and a track record of improving student access, learning, completion and employment.
He comes to Tri-C from Clover Park Technical College (CPTC) in suburban Tacoma, Washington. CPTC serves more than 6,600 students each year through two- and four-year degree pathways as well as career training and transfer options.
He has served as CPTC's vice president of student success since 2017, providing strategic vision, leadership and direction to the institution as chief student affairs and enrollment officer.
Previous administrative roles include senior manager of professional programs at the University of Washington; dean of student success at Renton Technical College; and student affairs positions at New York University, The Art Institute of Seattle and the University of Maryland.
Latiolais holds a B.A. in English and French linguistics from Louisiana State University, an M.S. in college student personnel administration from the University of Tennessee and an Ed.D. in community college leadership from Northern Illinois University.
He and his husband, Joel, have two children — Richard, 13, and Mathieu, 17. In their spare time, the Latiolais' enjoy traveling the world, going to the movies and sampling international cuisine.
