Tri-C Respiratory Care Program Wins National Award
Program wins CoARC award for third time in four years
For the third time in the last four years, the Respiratory Care program at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) has won the Distinguished Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialing Success Award.
The national award – the highest offered by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) – is given annually to respiratory therapy programs at which more than 90% of graduates pass their board exams.
The award is considered one of the primary indicators of a successful respiratory therapy program.
To be eligible for the award, programs must:
- Have three or more years of outcomes data.
- Hold accreditation without a progress report at the end of the year.
- Document RRT credentialing success of 90% or above.
- Meet or exceed established CoARC thresholds for TMC high cut score and retention.
“We are very proud to have once again won the RRT Credentialing Success Award,” said Zachary Yurchisin, director of Tri-C’s Respiratory Care program. “This award reflects the talent and hard work of our faculty, staff and students. We are grateful that CoARC has once again recognized the high quality of our people and our program.”
