Tri-C President Alex Johnson Encourages COVID-19 Vaccination
Video posted to the College’s YouTube channel shares his experience getting the vaccine
The process took only seconds, but that was enough time for Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) President Alex Johnson to protect his family, friends and community — as well as himself — from COVID-19.
Johnson recently received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Care Alliance Health Center in Cleveland. He became eligible Feb. 1.
A video posted to the College’s YouTube channel shares Johnson’s quick and painless experience at the clinic. The goal, he said, is to encourage others in the community to get vaccinated. (Click here to view the video.)
“I’ve completed the vaccination process, and I’m experiencing nothing at all in response to it with the exception of happiness that I’ve finally gotten it over with,” Johnson said in the video.
Care Alliance is administering vaccines by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays at its clinic, located at 2916 Central Ave. in Cleveland. Call 216-535-9100 and select option 6 to schedule a time.
Visit vaccine.coronavirus.ohio.gov to find other vaccine locations or call the United Way’s 2-1-1 HelpLink for information on the vaccine, eligibility and inoculation sites. Click here to learn about additional resources.
Dr. Claude Jones, president and CEO of Care Alliance, joined Johnson in the video. The College and Care Alliance have partnered to bring COVID-19 testing to the community at Tri-C sites.
Testing is currently offered at the College three days a week. Visit tri-c.edu/covidtest for a full schedule.
