Tri-C Fall Commencement Celebrates Nearly 2,200 Graduates
Ceremony for Class of 2023 takes place at Wolstein Center
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will celebrate the academic achievements of nearly 2,200 petitioning graduates during its Fall 2023 Commencement on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m.
The College will confer 2,700 degrees and certificates of completion this fall. The graduate total reflects the ongoing impact of the College’s programs and initiatives designed to keep students on the path to completion. The ceremony will be available for viewing on Tri-C’s Commencement webpage and the College's BoxCast channel.
Tri-C President Michael A. Baston said he is eager to celebrate the graduates as they move toward a better life for themselves and their families.
"I am immensely proud of our graduates for their dedication and perseverance,” Baston said. “These individuals have not only acquired the knowledge and skills to be successful, but they have also developed a strong sense of purpose. They are equipped with the talent and determination to make a positive impact on their communities and beyond."
Ahmie Yeung, a Lakewood resident who will graduate with a short-term certificate in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies, was selected by her classmates as the student speaker for the ceremony. The mother of five is a nontraditional student. Before enrolling in the Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies certificate program, Yeung already held a master's degree in sociology from Cleveland State University (2013) and a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Case Western Reserve University (1999). Yeung will use her certification to improve her community organizing skills and help more people take advantage of the region’s opportunities. She strongly believes in learning from every discomfort and struggle life hands each of us.
