Tri-C Earns 15th Consecutive Military Friendly Designation
College recognized as a Gold school for work with veterans and military members
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) has earned its 15th consecutive Military Friendly® School designation in recognition of its commitment to serving veteran and active military students and their families.
Tri-C attained Gold status in the ratings. Institutions were evaluated in categories such as graduation rates, student retention and job placement success.
"Each year, we support hundreds of student veterans and their families throughout the transition from military life to civilian life during their time at Tri-C," said Marjorie Morrison, director of Tri-C's Veteran and Military Connected Services. "Providing student veterans with a sense of belonging throughout the College is vital to their success, so we are proud to be recognized for the 15th consecutive year as a Military Friendly School."
Only 289 of the more than 1,800 eligible schools received the Military Friendly designation. The full list of schools is available at militaryfriendly.com.
The Military Friendly program was created to help service members and their families select the best college, university or trade school to receive the education and skills needed to pursue a civilian career.
Tri-C works with hundreds of military families each year through its veteran service centers, which offer a full array of support services to help veterans reach educational and career goals as they transition from soldiers to civilians.
The centers are located at the Eastern Campus in Highland Hills, the Metropolitan Campus in Cleveland, the Western Campus in Parma, the Westshore Campus in Westlake and the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland. Staff members build relationships with veterans on campus and help them navigate their unique challenges to meet their educational goals.
