Tri-C Creative Arts Academy Students Recognized by Ohio Music Education Association
Two students selected for All-State Jazz Ensemble
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) students Andrew Hoschar and Eli Leder have been selected to perform with the 2022 Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) All-State Jazz Ensemble.
Drummer Hoschar, of Hudson, and bassist Leder, of Avon, auditioned alongside top high school musicians from across the state. Both are enrolled in Tri-C's Creative Arts Academy.
The 2022 All-State Jazz Ensemble will perform at the OMEA Convention, taking place Feb. 3-5 in Cleveland. Grammy-winning bassist Todd Coolman will conduct.
OMEA promotes music education at all levels. Their annual conference and expo features informational sessions, exhibits and ensemble performances by bands, choirs, jazz bands and orchestras.
Each year, more than 1,000 high school students apply and record auditions in hopes of being chosen to perform.
In addition to his slot on the All-State Jazz Ensemble roster, Hoschar has been recognized by YoungArts as a Merit winner for percussion in the 2022 National Arts Competition.
YoungArts' signature program is an application-based award for emerging U.S. artists ages 15-18 or in grades 10-12. Selected through a blind judging process by highly accomplished artists, winners represent the top 10% of applicants.
