Tri-C Classical Piano Series Announces New Lineup and Venue for 2024-2025 Concert Season
Free recital series begins with Nov. 17 performance by pianist and vocalist Chelsea Guo
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) announced today the lineup for the 2024-2025 season of the Classical Piano Series.
This season, the Metropolitan Campus Auditorium will host all three concerts, while the Cleveland Museum of Art's Gartner Auditorium, the venue for several concerts last year, is undergoing renovations.
Now in its 18th season, the concert series continues to introduce emerging and established pianists from all over the world to the Greater Cleveland community. Admission to all the concerts is free, but tickets are required.
"We are thrilled to present these concerts on the stage of the Metro Campus Auditorium," said Emanuela Friscioni, the director of the Tri-C Classical Piano Series. "Following the successful presentation of Lang Lang's 101 Pianists at the Metro Auditorium, combined with the renovation to the Gartner Auditorium this year, moving the series to the Metro Auditorium makes sense for artists and the audience. This state-of-the-art venue has ideal acoustics and is easily accessible."
The three-concert series will showcase the extraordinary talent of three pianists:
Chelsea Guo
Sunday, Nov. 17 | 2 p.m.
Free | Ticket require
The First Prize winner of the 2022 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, Chelsea Guo is one of the rare talents equally formidable as both a vocalist and a pianist. Her dual artistry is featured in her 2021 debut recording on the Orchid Classics label, Chopin — In My Voice, which includes beloved Chopin solo repertoire as well as two Chopin songs and one Gioachino Rossini aria in which the artist accompanies herself.
Roman Rabinovich
Sunday, Jan. 26 | 2 p.m.
Free | Ticket required
Winner of the 12th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in 2008, Roman Rabinovich has garnered critical acclaim for recital and concerto performances throughout Europe and the U.S., ranging from Bach to Lutoslawski. He also serves as the co-director of the ChamberFest Cleveland and ChamberFest West (Calgary) Festivals, appearing regularly in chamber performances throughout Cleveland.
Clayton Stephenson
Sunday, April 6 | 2 p.m.
Free | Ticket required
American pianist Clayton Stephenson was hailed by Gramophone for his "extraordinary narrative and poetic gifts" and interpretations that are "fresh, incisive and characterfully alive." He started piano lessons at age 7, crediting the generous support of community music programs for providing inspiration and resources that led to a wide assortment of career accolades, including a 2014 Young Scholar of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation and a 2022 Gilmore Young Artist Award.
The Metro Campus Auditorium is located at 2809 Woodland Ave. in Cleveland. Free, secure parking is available in Lot 5 off Woodland Avenue near East 30th Street.
