Tri-C Among 2021 ‘Great Colleges to Work For’
College receives “Honor Roll” designation, excels in all 10 award categories
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) has been named one of the top workplaces among higher education institutions nationwide, as one of 76 two-year institutions named a “Great College to Work For” by ModernThink LLC.
Tri-C went above and beyond, as one of 12 two-year schools to achieve “honor roll” status, and one of just a pair of two-year schools to receive high marks in all 10 award categories:
- Job satisfaction and support
- Compensation and benefits
- Professional development
- Mission and pride
- Supervisor/department chair effectiveness
- Confidence in senior leadership
- Faculty and staff well-being
- Shared governance
- Faculty experience
- Diversity, inclusion and belonging
The award-winning institutions were selected from a field of 196 four- and two-year colleges, which were evaluated via a two-part assessment process: the ModernThink Higher Education Insight Survey administered to faculty, administrators, exempt professional and non-exempt staff, and adjuncts at two-year colleges; and the ModernThink Higher Education Institution Questionnaire (IQ), which captures employment data and workplace policies and practices from each institution.
“This honor is a reflection of the hard work carried out by each employee at our College,” said Tri-C President Alex Johnson. “The way you build a great workplace is through great work from people who truly believe in and live the mission and values every day. That is what we have at Tri-C, and it’s that foundation that allows us to continue providing a high level of service to our students and the community.”
