Mandel Humanities Center Dean Matthew Jordan Named to Crain’s Notables in Education
Publication recognizes local leaders impacting education in Northeast Ohio
Matthew Jordan, dean of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Humanities Center at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®), has earned a place among Crain’s Cleveland Business 2023 Notables in Education Leadership. The list recognizes area leaders in education who help make college and learning accessible.
The publication highlighted that Jordan has turned the Mandel Scholars Academy into a major presence in the community, growing the number of students from 111 in 2018 to 167 this spring, helping secure $1.4 million to create the Mandel Youth Humanities Academy for high school students.
Jordan is the second notable leader from the College to garner recognition during the academic year from Crain’s. Tri-C President Michael Baston was named to the publication’s “Power 150” list, which highlights business, civic and political leaders making a measurable impact on Cleveland.
