Making a Difference: Greg Skoda Honored for Work With Tri-C Foundation
Board member recognized with Chairperson’s Award for dedicated service
The Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Foundation recently presented its 2022 Chairperson's Award to Gregory J. Skoda for his dedicated service to the organization and its student-focused mission.
"We are so grateful for his tremendous work," Louis G. Joseph, outgoing Tri-C Foundation board chair, said. "Greg's leadership as Finance Committee chair has been instrumental in raising the Foundation's profile to national recognition. We are all grateful to him for his service and expertise."
Skoda joined the Tri-C Foundation board in 2009 and became chair of the Finance Committee in 2014. He also serves as a board vice chair and treasurer. Under his leadership, the Foundation's endowment grew from $42.5 million to over $100 million at the end of last fiscal year. Scholarship awards also grew dramatically, from $1.7 million in 2014 to $3.9 million this year.
He is a generous supporter of scholarships to help individuals achieve their educational goals.
Skoda, a CPA, is senior partner at Marcum, LLP, accountants and advisors, helps clients achieve their business growth objectives by participating in the development of their strategic plans and providing creative business and personal tax planning. He also assists clients with mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, succession and estate planning and wealth accumulation strategies.
The former chairman and co-founder of top accounting firm Skoda Minotti CPAs merged that company into Marcum in 2019. He also co-founded the public company, CBIZ.
The Chagrin Falls resident received the Chairperson's Award during the nonprofit organization's annual meeting earlier this month.
