Haid Garners Third OCCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor
Two double-double performances help Triceratops clinch postseason berth
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) swingman Devin Haid garnered his third Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week award of the season.
The freshman had two double-double games in a pair of wins against Terra State (83-56 on Feb. 20) and Clark State College (86-78 on Feb. 25) to help the Triceratops secure a postseason spot. Against the lopsided win over the Titans, Haid scored 16 points with 10 rebounds in just 23 minutes. Against Clark State, he played 39 minutes in a tight contest and went for 21 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
He made 52% of his field goals (14 of 27) from the floor for the week and knocked down 8 of 9 foul shots.
This was the final Player of the Week award from the conference as teams prepare for postseason play.
The Triceratops are 24-6 this year and finished third in the OCCAC (11-4). Tri-C faces Kalamazoo Valley Community College on March 10 in the NJCAA Great Lakes Region XII Tournament in Flint, Mich.
