India Pierce Lee strengthens communities, educational access at Tri-C through her extensive experience and dedication

India Pierce Lee brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to community empowerment as the executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®). Her journey to the College is rooted in her upbringing in Cleveland's Glenville neighborhood, where she learned early the importance of community and resilience.

Pierce Lee sat down with Phenomenal Woman Magazine to discuss her life and career journeys, which are rooted in supporting underserved communities.

Pierce Lee's career began as an air traffic controller, navigating challenges in a predominantly male, military-minded field. She went on to roles in community development and leadership.

In 2023, Pierce Lee joined Tri-C, where she now spearheads initiatives focused on student success, employee engagement and community outreach. Her leadership has already seen the expansion of programs like Women in Transition, which supports women seeking career changes or skills enhancement.

"I'm blessed to work at Tri-C with some very committed people," she said. "At the end of the day, I have never worked where so many people care about the people they serve — students, employees and the community."

Pierce Lee's approach is marked by tenacity and a strategic vision aimed at fostering partnerships that benefit both students and the broader community. Reflecting on her career highlights, Pierce Lee emphasizes her passion for cultivating leaders and advocating for Cleveland's potential.
