Digital Marketing Owner Continues Company Growth
10KSB program helps Anthony Milia of Milia Marketing find efficiencies that improve client experience
Anthony Milia was a first-generation graduate from Kent State University in 2016 and started his marketing business soon after in the fall. He has since built an award-winning marketing agency that works with small companies to Fortune 500 organizations and continues to grow and garner recognition.
Milia Marketing is a remote digital marketing firm that offers web development and design, search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click advertising and social media management.
By all accounts, his business was successful. But Milia found room for growth after completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program (10KSB) at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®).
“We saw a direct impact on our business from the 10KSB program that resulted in revenue growth and decreased expenses — putting a bigger focus on delegation, financial forecasting and operations,” Milia said.
Milia was recognized in 2021 as part of Crain's 20 in Their Twenties list for 2021. After learning about 10KSB through his fellow honorees, he applied to the program.
“Several individuals that went through the program in previous years spoke very highly about it, which drew my interest," he said.
Since enrolling in the program in the spring, Milia found that networking, accountability groups and mentorship proved valuable.
Through the program’s networking opportunities, Milia Marketing increased its monthly recurring revenue by 25%. The team prioritized setting effective systems and processes to become more efficient.
“We saved over 150 hours of manual labor by identifying bottlenecks and setting up automation within our process to save time and improve the solutions we deliver to our clients,” Milia said.
