“Jazz performers wear their art on their sleeves. The performers are authentic. They’re a treat to photograph.”
- Janet Macoska
Over the past four decades, Janet Macoska has become a world-renown, highly respected visual documentarian of rock’s most iconic performers. A who’s who of rock royalty have used her work in their books and album designs. She brought her acute gift of capturing the artist and the audience at exactly the right moment to a new genre – jazz – when approached to serve as the marketing director of the Tri-C JazzFest. During her tenure, Janet worked to expand the audience and fan base and created the Festival’s first electronic/digital press kit, providing the media greater access and exposure to the premier festival and its artists.
Her work inspired the design of the Gill and Tommy LiPuma Center for the Creative Arts on the Tri-C campus. Look for Janet covering all the excitement of this year's JazzFest from the stages to the streets.
