||Mark Zofka firmly believes that having fun – the coaching staff and the players – it part of good coaching strategies. He wants his players to do their best and enjoy the game. Zofka led Tri-C to 27 wins this spring (2013) and a return trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Region XII tournament.
Zofka previously coached at the high school level with a career record of 283-145 in 17 seasons at Holy Name and Padua Franciscan high schools. He was named Greater Cleveland Coaches Association Coach of the year in 2002 and 2005. Also in 2005, he was named the Cuyahoga County Coach of the Year, and his team qualified for the State Final 4. Zofka’s teams won five district championships and a regional championship.
Zofka is an accomplished player himself as a four-year starter at Cleveland State University. He knows from personal experience the benefits of being a student athlete. Zofka believes athletes have the ability to carry their skills with them into the workplace.
Zofka was inducted into the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association (NEOBCA) Hall of Fame in June 2013.
