Journalism and Mass Communication at Tri-C
Thinking of a career in the media? Want to work as a reporter for a newspaper or in broadcasting? How about learning how to write scripts for screenplays? Cuyahoga Community College offers exciting and rewarding opportunities for students interested in pursuing degrees and careers in various media fields.
Courses are geared for individuals working toward careers in writing for various media, including work in newspapers, magazines, television and public relations. Courses are also available for aspiring screenwriters, sportswriters, and for writing for the Internet. Many JMC courses transfer to four-year colleges where students may continue working toward bachelor’s degrees in journalism, communications, or related disciplines.
Tri-C works with media outlets throughout northeast Ohio to place students in engaging internships where they work with professionals in the media.
Classes at Tri-C help students navigate the ever-changing world of mass communications by providing work that is in tune with today’s media.
Note: If you plan to transfer to any other institution, Tri-C recommends communicating with the school of choice as soon as possible to ensure more of a seamless transition.
