The Dental Hygiene Program at Cuyahoga Community College is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of approval without reporting requirements.
The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.

After completion of this program, interested students may transfer to any institution to pursue a Baccalaureate Degree. Many students will transfer to the following four-year institutions without loss of credit:
- Cleveland State University
- Youngstown State University
- Ohio State University
- Akron University
- University of Pittsburgh
- Pennsylvania College of Technology
Any four-year institution with a Baccalaureate Degree program will admit a qualified transfer student, however some of the Dental Hygiene credits may not transfer. Distance educational opportunities exist and are appealing to various students.
