What are the requirements to be accepted into the Dental Office Management certificate program?

How will I know that I have been accepted into the program?
You will receive an acceptance letter and will be requested to return the letter indicating that you accept.
Can I be accepted into the program if I am not eligible for ENG 1010?
Yes, you may take the necessary English courses and other Dental Office Management courses on a part time basis.
What should I be expected to know and perform when I complete this certificate program?
Upon completion of the program, the student will have exposure to:
Can I test out of IT 1000 and IT 1010?
You may test out IT1000 if you can demonstrate typing skills of 30 wpm, but not IT 1010. Once you have successfully tested out of IT 1000, you must complete a Waiver Form with the Program Manager.
What is the lowest grade that I can receive in the courses and still earn my certificate?
C is the lowest grade to be accepted in any Health Career program. There are no “D’s” in program.
Is there a practicum (clinical) attached to this program?
There is an observation but no clinical requirement.
Are all of the courses offered on all campus?
DAST 1200 and DAST 1320 are only offered on Metro campus.
Is it possible to enroll in the program part-time?
Yes, you may enroll part-time.
Are all of the courses offered each semester, summer included?
DAST 1200 or DAST 1320 may not be offered in the summer.
Is financial aid available?
Only if you are enrolled in the Short Term Dental Assisting Program and concurrently take the Dental Office Management Program. Financial Aid is not provided for the Dental Office Management Program if taken alone.
What are there additional expenses and requirements for the program?

- It is necessary to complete the other requirements by the time the other courses are completed in order to receive your certificate.
Are any of the courses offered in the evening?
Yes, the English and Information Technology courses may be offered in the evening.
What kind of salary can I expect upon completion of this program?
Of course it depends upon the area in which you are employed and the type of facility.
The salary range is between $10.00 – 14.00 for receptionist and for a dental office manager between $14.00 – 18.00.
