Financial Assistance
Cuyahoga Community College maintains a full-service Student Financial Aid & Scholarships Office on each campus. This office is dedicated to helping students navigate financial aid options for paying for their college expenses. Students can meet with a Student Financial Aid Advisor to obtain information about various financial aid options, which includes grants, scholarships, and student loans.

Student Resource

Computers are available on each campus that students may use to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and search other financial aid resources. Financial Aid staff and Student Ambassadors are available during office hours to help students complete the FAFSA.

For additional information or to join us for a 2013-2014 FAFSA Workshops, please contact the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

  Important Information

FAFSA Priority Filing Deadlines:
In order to process your financial aid in a timely manner, the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships Office has established the following priority deadlines:

    Summer Session 2014: April 1, 2014
    Fall 2014 Semester:  July 1, 2014
    Spring 2015 Semester:  December 1, 2014

Students who submit all required documentation by the priority deadline will have their financial aid application completed prior to the payment deadline for the term for which they plan to enroll.  It is important that you regularly check your Tri-C email account and follow the progress of your financial aid application on your My Tri-C Space account as the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships Office may contact you should you need to provide additional documentation.  Students who do not submit all required documentation by the priority deadline may be required to make a payment arrangement with the Enrollment Center to ensure that they are not dropped from their courses for non-payment until their financial aid application can be processed.

Disbursement Policy:
Financial aid funds are applied to your tuition charges on your Tri-C account no sooner than 35 days after the start of every part-of-term (session). For example, if you are enrolled in a course during the 16-week session (Full-term) and enrolled in a course during the Second 8-week session (Session B) your financial aid funds for your Full-term course will be applied to your Tri-C student account on or after February 16, 2014 and your financial aid funds for your Session B course will be applied to your Tri-C student account on or after April 20, 2014.  NOTE: Fourteen days after financial aid funds are applied to your Tri-C student account; a refund will be sent via direct deposit to your checking or saving account or mailed to your home address.

New Direct Loan Interest Rates:
Effective August 9, 2013 the current loan interest rates for loans disbursed between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 for students participating in the Federal Direct Student Loan Program are:

Direct Subsidized Loans (Undergraduate Students) 3.86%
Direct Unsubsidized Loans (Undergraduate Students) 3.86%
    Direct PLUS Loans (Parents) 6.41%

Financial Aid Basics

When it comes to paying for school, you need to know your options. We have a series of financial aid videos provided by Financial Aid TV. After learning about financial aid options, students should make careful decisions about financial aid that you may qualify to receive to help pay for your educational expenses. Students may make an appointment to meet with a Financial Aid Advisor to learn about financial aid and scholarships available for Tri-C students.

Educational expenses may include tuition, fees, books, transportation, housing, and miscellaneous expenses. Students who may have additional expenses related to their attendance and educational costs may seek more information in the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.
