GOD is a play within a play, within a play comedy / farce about a playwright and actor trying to figure out how to end their play about the first marathon runner, Pheidippides, delivering the message to King Oedipus that provides Oedipus with the answer to his question, "is there a God?"  The message is "maybe."

COCOANUT SOUP AT THE PALACE is a Burlesque telling of the Oedipus Rex myth staring the Marx Brothers in all the major character roles.  For contrast there's a serious chorus and an equally serious Jocasta.
