Strings Attached
Ages 9-18
This camp provides students of violin, viola, cello and bass an opportunity not only to polish their instrumental skills, but to create their own music as well. The camp combines string ensemble classes with a language arts class, in which students learn journaling, storytelling and poetry. The students then select one of their poem or stories, from which a team of fellow students creates a performance with original words and original music. Students succeed, sometimes astonishingly well, in expressing themselves, while at the same time perfecting their skills of music and language. There will be a final performance that is open to the public.
